Maternity Shirt

With only 7 weeks left until our third baby is due, I have been having a hard time finding comfy shirts to fit over my belly. I have purchased way too many from Old Navy lately and had to return them because they were too short. They fit great on the arms and chest but once washed a few times they become belly shirts 🙂 So I decided to try and make a few shirts of my own. I went to the thrift store and bought a men’s XL turtle neck shirt. I made it with 3/4 sleeves and flared it out on the sides. I’m still debating if I want to keep it a turtle neck shirt or not. I love the way it turned out. It is so comfy and its keeping that big belly of my covered!!

Sadly, my gram passed away last week. She was a huge part of my life growing up. Almost all of my favorite childhood memories have her in them. Since I am not a fan of those tacky flower arrangements that you see at funerals. I decided to make her a special creation of my own. My gram was a very artsy person, so I knew she would love something handmade. I started by writing her a note that included all my favorite memories that we shared and then thanked her for all the things she taught me. Then I made “yellow roses” out of fabric. (Yellow roses were her favorite flower.) I glued the roses to the poster board along with the letter to her. I love how it looked at her funeral and it was a great way for me to reminisce about the great times we shared.

After making this for my gram, I got a great idea of making one for my friend and her little girls. Instead of a note I put the girls initials in the middle and flowers all around the board. I attached a ribbon on the top so that she could hang in their bedrooms. They are so cute!! I am thinking I may do my first tutorial on them, we will see. I will post pictures of them when I get a chance.

Christmas 2009

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Here are a few highlights from our Christmas:

*Opening the advent calendar and all of our late nights watching Christmas movies in bed.
*Christmas at Grammies house with all of our cousins.
*Christmas Mass and seeing our church look so beautiful!
*Our little girl singing at Christmas Mass and Frosty the Snowman with daddy.
*Our new kitchen/tool bench from santa.
*Going to The Montshire with our cousins.
*Watching the Raindeer in our garden (mumma and daddy are not going to like the raindeer once gardening season is here!)
