One of my little nieces 4th birthday is today. (Happy Birthday little D!!) A few days ago I sacrificed some much needed sleep to make her a special birthday crown. I have seen a ton of felt birthday crowns (which I love), but no fabric crowns. So with a million scraps of fabric hanging around I attempted to make her one out of fabric. I love how it turned out and cant wait to see her in it. Auntie also made her a matching purse!
Our little girl turns 1 1/2 today!
knock off wood
I wanted to share with you all one of my most favorite sites right now. Its called knock off wood and its amazing! For those of you that know me, know that our house has been under renovation for 6 years now. We are still aways away from it being completed, so I just dream of having a finished house. Or at least a house with a living room and a kitchen table. Anyways, enough rambling about our “dump.” I love the furniture and designs from Pottery Barn and Crate and Barrel but don’t like the prices. So when I stumbled across this blog a few weeks ago I have been hooked ever since. Unfortunately, we haven’t had the time to make anything yet but we do have a massive picnic table with bench seats in the works. Hopefully it will be done this weekend. Its supposed to be my mothers days gift. Go check out knock off wood, you are going to love it!

Hot / Cold packs for little boo boo’s
So my little girl has become quit a climber, unfortunately not a very good one. It seems as though we have at least two good falls a day. Every time I put ice on her boo boo its more traumatic then the fall itself. I have heard about making hot/cold packs by using rice or whole corn and fabric squares. So when we were at the grain store the other day I picked a 50# bag of whole corn (I realize it’s a little excessive). All I had to do was sew together some fabric squares and fill them with the whole corn. Easy right? Well not so, they took 4 days to make. And I was just begining to think that I would open up my etsy store again, haha! Maybe next month.

I have already placed 3 of them into the freezer. I’m sure we will be using one of them before the day is over. I am also bringing one to my little niece that has become quit the climber herself.

2 little hooligans is still closed
For those of you that have emailed me wanting to purchase items from 2 little hooligans, I am sorry but I am still closed, and will be for a bit. The past month has been a rough one for us. Two weeks after we welcomed our new baby girl to our family my father unexpectedly passed away. So for the past month we have been trying to adjust to life with 3 little ones, and deal with the loss of my father. I look forward to the days when I can stay up till wee hours sewing away. But for now, my focus is on taking care of our little family.
On a happier note, we had a wonderful Easter. The Easter bunny even made a visit to our house!
