Ever want to log off and stop blogging? Well that has been me ever since I switched over to Word Press. Really. I’m struggling through it though, because I know that I would regret it in the long run if I gave it up. But right now, blogging hasn’t been fun at all for me. Working on the logistics of a blog is what I dislike the most and when I switched over a lot of my links were lost. Sorry that a lot of you were having trouble finding some of my tutorials and that so many of my links were broken. I have gone through and fixed all of them, I hope. So please let me know if you have found any issues anywhere. Also I decided to switch all of my templates over from Scribd to box. I have had so many complaints about Scribd and apologize to those of you that had a hard time downloading any of the templates. Hopefully box will be more user friendly for all of you. I personally have downloaded from box before and have never had problems with it. Below are the links to the tutorials that I just updated.
Haidee the HOOligan owl stuffie & carrying case
The past few weeks I have spent most of my time organizing, painting, gardening and purging lots of stuff. One of the first places I decided to tackle was with this big ole pile of scraps. I ended up with 4 bags of scraps. So if any of you are interested in these bags just let me know and I will set up a custom listing in my etsy shop. Just send me an email telling me which bag you would like along with your zip code so I can calculate the cost for you. Like in the past I am just going to charge you for shipping and not the cost of the scraps. Just promise me you will give them a good home and make something pretty with them! And it will be first come first serve.
Bag #1: large scraps. Some are a little smaller then a fat quarter and some are larger then a fat quarter. Bag weighs 2.8lbs.
Bag #2: small scraps. Best to use for small crafting projects. Bag weighs 2lbs.
Bag #3: small scraps. Best to use for small crafting projects. Bag weighs 1.7lbs.
Bag #4: ruffle fabric scraps. Some pretty small to small sized pieces. Best for smaller craft and sewing projects. Bag weighs 1.5lbs.
Bag #5: medium sized scraps. Good for small sewing and craft projects. Larger scraps then the previous two bags. Bag weighs 1.7lbs.

Making some cap tappers is pretty simple and really needs little explanation. Just grab some small scraps of fabric, sewing notions, buttons or whatever else you think will be fun to work with. And of course you will need some marker caps and a hot glue gun.

Isn’t she the cutest “bat ball” player you have ever seen?!

I decided to use buttons this time just because I knew they would look cuter and I wanted a little pop of color with the denim dress. But for ease I wish I would have used snaps. I just love snaps. Have I told you that before? I almost mod podged some snaps. Think it will work? Maybe I will give it a go, how cute would that be?!

So there you have it…my signature look. Thank you so much the challenge girls! It really made me step out of my comfort level each week and try something new. I have learned so much about sewing clothes for these sweet little ones and now my girls have a bunch of handmade dresses from Momma. But more importantly I have some really sweet photo’s of my little girls and that right there is PRICELESS to me!

Or maybe you already knew from all the squeals, screeches and aww’s that were heard.

Here is the Once-ler’s outfit that I used as an inspiration.
It seemed like a pretty straight forward design, but really this outfit took more time to make then any of the others, by far!

Then came the pants… oh those pants! They seemed pretty basic in design, but if you look really close you will see how perfectly all the stripes line up on his pants and yes, I decided I had to do that.
Unfortunately I wasn’t working with just stripes, so I had to make sure that the lines were lined up vertically and horizontally. I knew that uneven lines would make all the difference between an ok pair of pants and a great pair of pants.

Now all I have to make is a lorax and a brown barbaloot costume and we are ready for Halloween.

Place your dyed fabric directly into the washer and wash with your regular detergent. Dry as usual. And that is it…Easy peasy? Yes, it is time consuming, but worth it. At least I think so!

But quickly ended our search when we saw these two geese swimming in Paul’s pond.

I enjoyed the beauty around us while the kids ran around searching for worms and playing with rocks.
