Operation Shower.

How many of you have noticed that little pink DONATE NOW button on my sidebar?

I know a few of you have, but for those of you that haven’t I wanted to let you what that little button is all about. The DONATE NOW button is for donating funds towards Operation Shower.

Operation Shower is a non-profit organization that recognizes and honors the sacrifices military families make by producing and coordinating baby showers and “Showers in A Box” for pregnant and expecting military personnel and their families.

In the past I have supported Operation Shower by donating 25 handmade burp cloths. It felt so great to be able to give back to those women that sacrifice so much for us. So last year I set a goal of raising $250 to donate towards a shower. I’m excited to say that I am more then half-way there, but I still have a ways to go. So over the next few weeks I will be adding some new items to my etsy shop in which 100% of the proceeds from all sales will be donated to Operation Shower. I hope that by the New Year I will be that much closer to reaching my goal of giving some expecting moms an amazing baby shower. I hope that you will all take a minute to learn more about Operation Shower by visiting their website or watching the video below. And if your super cool you will even donate towards a shower…just saying.

etsy shop and blog updates

I have decided to open my etsy shop back up and donate 100% of the proceeds to Operation Shower. I’m still working towards my goal of raising enough funds to help throw a baby shower for expecting military families. All of the items listed in my shop are made and ready to be shipped. And if anyone is interested in buying this let me know, unfortunately I only have one available at this time.

I hope you all will take the time to read more about Operation Shower here and will consider donating to such a wonderful organization.

And my blog is now…

I have had so many requests for this, and I finally figured out how to do it. Thanks to this great site here, it was so easy! I’m embarrassed that it took my this long to figure it out. The only thing that I ask, is that you do not print pictures of my kiddo’s, unless of course you are family. And please still give this momma credit for all of her creations. I put a lot of time and energy into these FREE tutorials and ideas that I share with all of you.

And lastly, I spent a 1/2 hour in front of my much neglected sewing machine the other day. I made something fun for the kiddo’s that I think you will all like. It will make a great little handmade goodie for those Easter baskets or a fun toy for enjoying the spring weather. Gosh, this lack of sewing has been tougher for me then I had expected, especially with girls making stuff like this . My to do list is just growing and growing, while nothing is getting checked off.

See you all Friday!

Because I can’t do it all… {Giveaway}

I had to cancel my booth at the craft fair! And I’m OK with that, well sorta. I had to come to the realization that I just can’t do it all.
I did manage to make a few items for the craft fair which mostly consist of a few key fobs and some cold packs “boo boo bags.” I don’t normally sell these items in my etsy shop, but they are fun to make and are good sellers at craft fairs. So to make me feel better about not being able to do it all, I am going to do a giveaway for all of you and I’m going to be donating 100% of the proceeds from the key fobs and cold packs that are in my etsy shop to Operation Shower. Please go check them out. I’m selling the key fobs for $6 and the baby cold packs for $8 a pair.

One goal I have set for myself for the upcoming year is to raise the $250 it takes to throw one baby shower through Operation Shower. Wanna help out too? You can either purchase an item listed in my etsy shop as (100% of the proceeds donated to Operation Shower) or donate directly to Operation Shower.
And now here is my way for GIVING THANKS to all of you, my readers.
I am giving away this little baby play blanket to one lucky winner. To enter, all you have to do is leave me a comment. Make sure you leave your email address if it is not linked through blogger.

Winner will be picked on November 26th!

Operation Give Thanks.

I have been wanting to share this with all of you for awhile now and with it being Veteran’s Day today, I think today is the perfect day to do so.

Do you remember awhile back when I mentioned that I was going to be donating 25 burp cloths to Operation Shower? Well here is a little peek of my burp cloths in those AMAZING boxes. As I mentioned earlier, these boxes are made up for pregnant women who’s husbands are deployed, and may or may not be home in time for the birth. Operation Shower, “showers” these deserving women with the most amazing party and baby gifts.

That is just a tiny peak of what is inside the boxes. The boxes are filled with a diaper bag, toys, books, clothes, and whatever else a new mom would need. But, with most wonderful organizations, they are in need of money to keep this organization going. So recently they started Operation Give Thanks to help raise money to fund Operation Shower.

What Is Operation Give Thanks?

“Operation Give Thanks is a nation-wide fundraising campaign to help Operation Shower continue our mission to throw amazing baby showers for military families to ease the burden of deployment. We are asking people across the nation to host a party, big or small, between now and the end of the year to raise money for Operation Shower. What a wonderful way to express your gratitude and thanks at this special time of year — and have fun!
Our long-term goal is to reach every military base in the nation. Our short-term goal is to raise $50,000 through Operation Give Thanks to enable us to shower over 200 more moms-to-be ! That’s right, if you raise $250 for Operation Shower, that helps us to throw a full amazing baby shower with gifts for a military mom to be whose spouse is deployed!”

So who is up for a party?
Look what it can do.

Not able to throw a party? Me neither, but don’t worry there are so many other ways to help out.

And huge THANK YOU to all of the men and women serving our country and to their families as well, because you too sacrifice so much for us.

And an extra special thanks to B & A, we love you guys!
